Title: IBM Model Z
Post by: Aer Fixus on Sat, 29 November 2014, 10:59:28
Yeah, what? http://www.ebay.com/itm/121501666202 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/121501666202)

The keyboard is very clearly a Model F with a screwed up label. Like the Bigfoot boards that have M printed on them, the Z means nothing, although a refurbishing date of 2003 is pretty cool, I guess.

I'm not sure if people collect oddities like this or if a misprinted label is of no concern to anyone. If no one actually cares about misprinted labels and late refurbish dates, I can stop posting stuff like this.

I suspect people really care; they just don't have good information on what's going on. EG is the IBM Model Z some random BS printed by some joker? Or is it an unusual and proprietary variant that doesn't work with Soarer converter? (Remember Orihalcon bought a bunch of new Lynx keyboards only to discover that they could only work with one version of Soarer.) It would be very curious if there were some versions of capacitative boards that had some unique properties.

Note: cracked case.

And the DIN connector appears to be bent, too.

I already got the other [refurbished in 2003] one and will post info when it arrives.

I always like seeing oddities, though I don't really care about the label.  The fact that was refurbished in 2003 is more interesting.  Its a decent price as well.

Note: cracked case.

Very typical breakage for these, those bottom corners are the weak points.

I have had at least 2 6110347s and they did not have the DIP switches. Those I have only seen on the 6110668.

afaik the main difference between the 6110345/346/347 and the 6110668 is that.
