I finally got my Ducky DK9008P CCnG but, after the initial enthusiasm, I feel blood freeze in my veins: my CCnG Space Bar is too thin!!!
Please, look at the pictures... The other one is the standard Cherry G80-3000 Space Bar. Photos are not the best, but the problem can be seen also without backlight, with the Space Bar mounted on the keyboard...
The thing that make my furious is that the cheap Cherry G80-3000 Space Bar is THIN and the Ducky should be THICK!!!
My opinion is that it is defective... What do you think?
Is it normal or is it too thin? Is my CCnG defective? Do you think that Ducky will change my Space Bar?

Looks normal to me.

Need to see the underside.
-
hm i thought it was normal for the spacebar to be thinner. otherwise the weight of it could throw off the switch feel
-
Yeah most spacebars aren't generally super thick or anything, seems about right to me
-
Underside seems "normal" or not too different from Cherry one...
But, if it is normal, why the Cherry THIN is better? Why "German thin" is thicker than "Taiwanese thick"? :'(
-
That's normal on all Ducky thick PBT spacebars. It just happens that the "cream" colour they use is a bit more translucent than the rest.

Why on the Space Bar only? Other big keys are like Cherry: not transparent...

Many thick keycap sets have thinner walls on spacebar. That paired with the slightly translucent cream colour makes the spacebar more noticeable than the other cream keys.

Many thick keycap sets have thinner walls on spacebar.
What is the reason for that?
Why old Cherry are thicker?
Is the Ducky CCnG Space Bar PBT or ABS? Surface seems the same. I checked it: yes, borders are less thick than other keys...

why are old cherry thicker?
if they are thicker, than that could be why some mx boards use a heavier switch for the spacebar

I don't remember... Between 10 and 15 years old. Probably 13/14 years old... But can be a stock fund...
Yes, it has an MX Grey under the Space Bar.

my original ducky cream spacebar looks the same, from the top you could see the stems. and from what i've read, it is normal
