Title: [UK ebay] Goldtouch ergo board £20 inc.
Post by: Rajagra on Mon, 27 July 2009, 10:11:24
OK, it's no M15, and they are often seen cheap on the bay, but £20 including postage is as cheap as I've seen these. Bearing in mind they sell for £140+ online I figured I had to get one to try out. Seller has lots of them.

Maybe there is just a massive overstock on the UK layout version.

Maybe, but the UK version of this is basically a US version with the extra ISO key bolted on to the top right.

Title: Mystery cheap GoldTouch

The rumour is that a big order for Goldtouch was cancelled and a quantity were dumped on the surplus market for way below cost. I would expect they'll clear out pretty quick.

I had a white one of these and thought it was very nice for a rubber dome.
I will order a black one for sure. Can be very kind to the hands if you suffer from RSI.
Nice find! I see the white one is still super overpriced!

Mine arrived. The ball joint was snapped. They have asked me to send it back at my own cost where it will need to be tested for several days before they will send out a replacement.
I did get to tap away at the keys a bit and it felt softer than the white PS2 version I had. Could just be because I am used to the HH though.
Looking forward to getting one that is not permanently in two halves.

How do you test a snapped ball joint :-)

Sounds like you were unlucky.
I've never heard of one breaking in the middle. I've handled a lot of these and return rates are very low.

The reason it may feel different is that the early ones were made - I think - by Mitsumi and they are now all made by Sejin. Sejin make good solid keyboards.

Good to know mate! It did feel better as far as key press goes. Not a long way off from the HH I am used too.
Looking forward to the replacement now :)

I got three, one to see what it's about, one for my mother and one because they lowered the shipping for 3 units and it was almost the same as two. :)

Edit: Actually, I got none, the seller refunded me today. :(
