So I have this gift exchange going on in History class...
But there's a twist. It's not like buy something that you think the other person might like.
You need to buy something that either resembles U.S. History, or something about pop culture like a rubiks cube.
I have a $15 spending limit. And I don't think I'm allowed to use a rubiks because she gave the example of one.
I don't really know what to buy at this point. Nor do I know why I signed up for this. Although, I think it's a nice experience in giving.

Go out and find a model M for $15. IBM counts as US history right?
-
Not in my American History book lol.

Seeing as this is geekhack it would be infinitely better if it's keyboard related in some way. I really think finding and cleaning up a model M would be hilarious.

$15 in POGS
-
Trying going to a thrift store or the salvation army? My cousin once bought a flame proof aviator jacket for like $12 once, but that's beside the point.
-
I don't really have any ideas, but report back with what people come up with. I'm intrigued by this idea.
-
Check out a few thrift stores and you are bound to stumble across some interesting "pop culture"
Otherwise, a vinyl LP with an amazing cover.

Get her some lead army figures. There's like three levels of history in one package right there.

$15 could get you an interesting historic coin, particularly if you're willing to take a "cull" (damaged piece, usually only kept for collectors as a placeholder for a rare or expensive variety).
A large cent (issued up to 1857) could probably be had either "cull" or in a low grade for $15, and they're striking.

A keeping Up With the Kardashians DVD to prove the fall of Western civilization.
oh wait, they have to like it... hey, if they like the show it proves your point with supported data!
-
Buy her an apron.
-
God know.
My teacher is a bit of a hardcore feminist.
-
Buy her a fighting game. That's progress right there.
-
Buy her a bed sheet and tell her to make a fort out of it and laugh at all the boys in the 90's for not letting her in.
