Title: Is "The Enabler's" PCB files available anywhere? I'd like to order some.
Post by: nandop on Sun, 07 December 2014, 20:47:27
The Enabler is the single MX switch PCB. I was wondering if I could find some since geekkeys seems to be out.

I have searched everywhere and the PCB files are nowhere to be found so that I can order some from OSH Park.

Can anyone help?  :D

Yes they are available here http://techkeys.us/collections/accessories/products/the-enabler ! I ordered 3 from here myself, and it took less than a week for them to come, and I live in PA.

Sorry about not getting back to you nandrop.  I take full responsibility for that one.  I do still need to get those files published on OshPark as well as git hub possibily.  The one issue there though is I don't want to step on i3oilermakers toes with his sales at techkeys.com.

Its all good Melvang. I didn't really know if they had placed a huge order and are selling them or if they are the ones holding the design for exclusivity. I'm just really happy that they are located a state away from me and it is priced very reasonably. As long as it stays at $0.40 (or less lol one can dream) I have no problem purchasing it from them.

Thanks for the reply! I'm almost done with finals, build logs are coming!

Maybe wait a bit for i3oilermaker to get a little lower on stock and then release the drawings.  I feel that is a pretty reasonable way to handle that.  :)  Thanks again for making these btw...  :)

That is the plan, I just don't want to step on any toes.  Especially with the guy that ordered enough to get into the medium run pricing on his own.

Ya for sure.  Totally makes sense.  He is making them available for people who were not lucky enough to get into the original buy (or didn't realize they wanted them till after).  :)

What are the semicircular protrusions at the side? Is that just manufacturing flash?

Essentially, they were shipped to me in sheets of 25x25 grids and had a bit of PCB material holding the grid together with drilled holes on both sides of the attachment.

Hmm, intriguing. Is the distance between them pre-snapping the right distance between keys, or would they be too close?

It is to close, they need to be snapped apart.  They are like that because thats how they shipped to me.  I sent them to i3oilermaker in 5x5 chunks.  Much easier and cheaper to ship than the 25x25 sheets.
