Title: iPad?
Post by: Angry Hipster on Sun, 28 December 2014, 13:32:49
My iPad will be arriving shortly, does anyone have any advice for a first time user? I bought a mech keyboard for the iPad and I am hoping that the two can replace my laptop and help me become Super Productive.

Um.... well... ahhhh....... hrrmmm...

Ipads, pads in general  are not replacements..

They're for in-a-pinch moments  and  if you're too lazy to get out of bed to read an email..

Even the fastest pads, (excluding intel i5 pads),  are significantly slower than even an i3 laptop cpu..

It feels slower, it does everything slower than most laptops.. even old ones..

Now, whether or not it's fast enough "for you"...  that comes down to what you're using it for..

Superproductive at doing what?

To me it seems the iPad is for consuming content, not creating it.

I have iPad, and pretty much only use it for watching movies and testing web app I have been writing for work.  I used it a couple of times to take notes during meetings at work, it was acceptable for that too.
