Title: Hello from Canada!
Post by: rand77 on Mon, 29 December 2014, 02:49:56
After lurking for a while, its finally time to come out of the shadows :)

I'm an electrical engineer in the Toronto area with a interest in keyboards and all sorts of technology.  My first mechanical keyboard was actually what I think was a model M (must have been very old as it had an AT/DIN5 connector).

After many years with rubber domes and scissor switches, I recently picked a Filco TKL with Cherry MX browns.  I also use Matias V60 (damped) and Acer 6311 (acer alps variants).

Looking forward to learning more about keyboards and sharing any future mods/projects everyone!

Welcome to Geekhack!

Many people had their first mechanical keyboard experience with a Model M or something similar from the same era.

Have you considered buying another one now?  They do still work, very well actually, especially if they have been bolt modded.

I have two Model M, btw :)
