Title: Hello new mechanical keyboard owner
Post by: Ritual on Mon, 29 December 2014, 08:14:35
Just ordered a WASD v2 for Christmas and while I waited for them to come back from Holiday and ship my keyboard,   I found this website to satisfy my current mechanical keyboard infatuation.

I figured since it is my first mechanical I would go with the full experience classic MX Blues.

I got the red colored sound dampeners as well,  40AL something or other.

I fully customized my legend using Inkscape and uploaded it to WASD.  So I am going to enjoy it for as long as I can.

Going to try and not to think about what Key Cap material is the strongest,  what switch type is best,  what keyboard layout I should be the most learned on,  what form factor will be the most portable or wether or not I cannot live without backlighting.  I have a backlit membrane keyboard (Microsoft Sidewinder X4) ,  and I never use the lights on it.  The keys are shined after two years but I don't even notice that either.

sounds like a good thing to do since WASD keys aren't really known for quality keys, they tend to start fading/chipping after 6 months of regular use.

Welcome to Geekhack!

You might find yourself replacing the keycaps sooner than you expect ;)
