For $300 it at least better have a aluminum case...

Like really who even uses those lighting modes during regular use? I mean sure, it makes for a nice experience at LAN parties for a few minutes but it's not very practical

So Ducky had access to the RGB switches during the exclusity deal with Corsair ?
So we can expect ducky RGB as soon as the deal end ?

The way I understood the corsair deal was that they had distribution exclusivity for a year, not development exclusivity.

Good to know there will be an other option than Corsair gaming for RGB keyboard in a close future .

yeah this thing better be a lot nicer than previous shines for that crazy price, not just some new lighting modes

Wouldn't it be a special edition like Ducky often do ?
Because if their shine RGB is 300$ it won't sell great .

i would think the shine FOUR rgb would be a special edition with a high price.

their shine FIVE would probably be rgb by default.

that would make sense

i don't now how long they've had access to the RGB module for dev purposes

so it might just be a test

it could also just be kale

I wonder if this is kailh or cherry...

When does that partnership with corsair or whatever for the one year with the rgb end with cherry?

I hope to hell for $300 they're Cherry :P

I might get a little bit of hate for this, but I'm honestly getting sick of all this marketing towards how many LED modes and colors we can shove into a board, it's getting old.

No hate at all.

I just want to change the color sometimes lol.

Like instead of blue all year round, maybe some green and change the whole color scheme in windows.

Competition is good for the consumer. So more LEDs from each company means better products and such lol

I think this is still secret product, but i don't know why Ducky Distributor Singapore posted in on public

Since ducky haven't post it yet

This will be the next generation of Shine 2 78 version ;)

Now is it worth 2x the amount of a regular ducky shine?
Hope it comes with doubleshot pbt caps to justify the price point.

To my knowledge talking to Corsair and Ducky reps, it ended at midnight on 31/12/14

I don't think they will go that far. They may do PBT, but I can't see them doing doubleshots.

You guys know that's in Singapore dollars, right?

So it's $240 in USD.
LED's are red/blue and green/yellow (dual-dual).
So looks like you'll have 16 primary colors at full intensity by combining red/blue/green/yellow, then secondary colors by combining brightness levels.

wondering if white is possible with these?.
Because red and green make yellow, but it already has a yellow LED.

Yellow+cyan+Magenta make black...good luck with that...(is that even possible with LEDs without having them off?)

I was originally planning on picking one of these up, harvesting the switches, then at least having a decent PCB left over...now it looks like I'm harvesting the switches from a corsair...so much for having a nice PCB left over.

Should I ever get one, and should the lighting mode  be settable from the computer, then you could connect it to your notification system and set up something like: flash arrow keys for new email, flash numpad when you finish compiling, flash the function keys when a download finishes etc.

Could be quite useful.

PS But not for $300.

It sometimes seems to me that half of all Duckys produced are special and limited edition somethings or others.

what? why the $110 difference!?
Oh wait CAD
So it's even cheaper
Still confused
FYI $190 CAD = $152.58 USD
That's way more reasonable than $300 to me.

that looks like someone let their 8 y/o kid design a keyboard. "I LIKE RAINBOWS." It just seems so arbitrary. I dunno, I might just not see the wisdom in it because I'm dumb though.

At least the HHKB you're paying for Topre switches and the unique layout. With this you're paying for shiny lights and a horse on the spacebar . . .

I agree. IMO it's super jarring when a keyboard does that with commonly used keys. Typing on that would be an odd experience; 7 different switch types on one board.   :-\

$300 dollars for a ducky -_- i feel my money can be spent else where. I think i like the idea of backlighting(and rgb) but in actuality i don't need it since i got myself a $20 ikea desklamp which lights up my entire desk at night.
