After almost 2 years living happily with my 7G, disaster happend, my sister accidently drop 1/4 of a glass of coca-cola directly into my 7G.
I reacted fast, cleaned as fast as i could, and let it dry for 2 days~ Readed some forums FAQ about
After that, i bought a bottle of air duster, alcohol 80º and started cleaning, of the affected bottoms i could fix control, COMA POINT windows buttom, alt gr... but couldnt fix spacebar, shift, intro and 0/ins.
I tried to remove the case to get into the pcb and do an exhaustive cleaning, but here is my problem:
if i could clean the metal bars of the spacebar and etcetera, i wouldnt need to remover that thing, but im not sure if i can remove these without unweld it: PHOTO
Would be cool too to know if i should lubricate the keyboard after this, never did it before and have no idea about what should i use / its recomended or not.
Thanks

up... someone told me this is the best comunity where i could find help... not sure about that :(

It should work fine without having to lube the stabilisers.
But if you really wanted to, there are several lubes available. Unfortunately I have never lubed a keyboard, so I would probably not be the best person to recommend one to you.

I'm sorry to hear about your board.
I lost it when someone spilt beer on my $30 Logitech wireless (mouse included) keyboard.
This is going to be of no help but have you considered purchasing a Model M some later models have drainage channels, consider it future proofing?

This thread (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34332.0) has lots of information about lubing.

I actually have the same problem with my poker ii spacebar, spilled cola on it and now it feels squishy even after using alchohol. Lube might be the solution, but are there any ideas on how to reach the stabilizers underneath the plate? Cool cool, interested to see where this thread goes.
