So I sold my ergodox on eBay for $300 BIN price. Now, the buyer is apparently some guy from the UK. Normally I wouldn't have an issue with that but this person has zero feedback. Can I get some insight from you guys? I don't feel like getting scammed for my sweet sweet ergodox.

What is he paying with?
-
Did they already submit PayPal payment?
eBay and PayPal both have seller protection in case buyer flakes.
-
He already sent a payment, however paypal states "The sender of this payment is Non-U.S. - Unregistered".

Someone tried doing this to me when I sold my PS-Vita, so I denied him and then I changed my settings so 0 rep can't buy from me. Just to be safe, look at when he was registered, but I still wouldn't go through with it.

Yeah, I am impressed it sold, and sorry, I honestly don't know the price of them, but it does seem like they do sell for 300. I am sorry, all of the keyboards I have bought second hand have been a steal, but I also hadn't realized someone else had soldered yours, which does make it harder to break even.

Hints from an eBay power user (not me):
"Things that should be of no concern or worry to you:
1. Zero feedback.
2. Registered the day before the purchase.
3. The payment is under review - no problem because you don't ship until PayPal determines it's safe.
4. Unconfirmed address."
All "Non-US Unregistered" means is that the person does not have a PP account and used a credit or debit card to fund the purchase using PayPal's payment system which has security measures in place to ensure the transaction goes smoothly.
As long as you make sure the money is in your PayPal account (and not just via email; log into your PayPal account and make sure it's there or is pending - which means PayPal is holding the funds until the transaction is determined to be problem free) you should be fine. eBay and PayPal will let you know when it is safe to ship. In other words, don't ship until eBay and/or PayPal lets you know it is safe to ship. Purchase your shipping through eBay for maximum protection and for the best proof that you completed your end of the transaction in case anything comes up.
On the other hand, if you do decide not to ship the board, you do risk getting negative feedback eBay and being flagged by PayPal as a bad seller, both of which make a huge negative impact on your future ability to sell anything on eBay or to use PayPal to receive funds for goods or services.

Allright, it's not a big deal. I knew it would sell. The "You might want to adjust your price" part frustrated me the most. I wanted to throw my keyboard at you.

I got a PM from the buyer
Hi,
I understand, no problem for that :)
I was looking for an ergodox and Massdrop is not going to create a new drop before a while so Ebay is the only place where I was able to find one. Usually I use Amazon when I've to purchase something, I never used Ebay before.
I don't know how I can prove who am I, if you trust in PGP maybe you can take a look at https://keybase.io/###### and we could exchange an encrypted and signed email? Do you have another solution?
Other public accounts you could trust in:
- https://uk.linkedin.com/in/#######(sorry it's in french :))
- http://www.viadeo.com/en/profile/####### (same as above, sorry it's in french :))
I could maybe take some times before answering to your e-mail this week-end because I'm a french living in London and I do an escape to France this week-end for my mum's birthday so it could be difficult to answer in the plane or on my way between the airport and my parent's house.
Have a good day, Cheers,
After reviewing everything, he seems legit.(programmer, computer science background)

GZ on the sale, and I know why you were pissed, sorry about that. I guess mine was so cheap because he didn't like it at all, and did all the work himself.

In general, I would say anyone interested in an EGDX is a good-egg. Its a very niche item that would only appeal to a certain type. Scammers wouldn't know the first thing about how to rip people off on an Egdx.
-
I wouldn't worry.
People signing up to bid on an item they may have been looking for is common.
I sold some rare Audio Technica headphones (W3000anv if you're wondering) on eBay. The guy opens an account, sends me a message making sure all the item details are correct then pays the BIN. I receive the money in my account (not some scam email like those Nigerian scammers that send fake Paypal emails), PayPal and eBay give me the go ahead to ship and then he confirmed delivery.
And if you've ever done a trade / transaction with me you're likely to know I protect myself first

I always seek to trust before I do not trust, then trust my judgment if things seem shady. I find this more useful than consistently being paranoid.
