So I found a model M, it's in awesome shape. I'll throw some pictures in here tomorrow, but I didn't have a usb to ps2 to attack it to my mobo (btw the original cable is in fantastic shape as well) I really liked the feel of it until I went to play some games today. I didn't know it wouldn't allow me to hit key binds like CTRL ~ I assumed it would being it's 2kro... anyway.. I purchased a blank black set of unicomp keys for it as well BEFORE I had tried it out at all.... yeah, I liked the feel of it that much. Anyway! Just throw me some ideas so I may list it on the sellers area. I didn't put this there because it's not for sale or trade "yet".. until I can find out if I want to keep it anyway or get rid of it.

There is a price check thread in the classifieds that this would fit better under. Model M's aren't worth very much.

Oh! I haven't sold anything on here for a really long time. Thanks. Maybe a mod will move this or I can delete I think.. I didn't expect it to be worth anything amazing haha

Haha, I've seen them go anywhere from 15-45, the highest quality, bolt modded, whitened, push 100 or so.

I think pics or at least a date would help determine the value.

03-dec-1993
I would be satisfied trading it and the black caps for someone to mod my code to different switches on the 61 key area of my Wasd v2 (to new switches and led color with me buying parts/paying shipping) I'll post pictures tomorrow. A little inebriated and watching a movie ha!

Lol, always fun. Wish I was better at soldering so I could help you. I love ibm boards. GL with your wasd.

The real key to knowing its value is what date and style of emblem is it?
Silver, white or blue?
a really fantastic condition silver label with few or no rivets missing would approach $80-90 in my opinion.
the same condition blue label may only bring $30.
A white label is a nice in-between.

The IBM text is blue, the label behind it is grey. It's 101 key.
-
Bad part: It's missing a factory ALT key and - on the numpad. I figured I'd end up keeping it, but maybe someone would want to soldier some stuff for it ha! Thanks for the insight thus far.

Replacement keycaps are not a big deal - there are a few GH members who seem to be amassing collections of olde IBM stuff. Plus there are a few eBay sellers selling individual Model M keycaps.

You'll be lucky to find one for less than $40 before shipping. Bolt modded ones can go into $150 range or higher.
