Looks decent, but I've only ever used my 1987 Model M, so I can't say if age is better or worse. But it seems the most important thing is the state of the springs.
Bad pictures, or:
brominated flame retardants and the amount of exposure to UV radiation.

is there any difference between 1991 and 1989? the 1991 was like $1 cheaper so i just bought that.
-
I got one from him before and it's alright. When I got it some of the keys weren't buckling but all you have to do is reseat the keys and it will be fine. =)
-
No. They're both black label 1391401s. Same thing
-
some more questions. i noticed that the 1987's or 1988's have black boards and the ones after that have white boards. is there any difference between these besides the color?
also, underneath i notice that there are mismatched blank keys. will those feel the same?
-
they feel the same right?
-
They should, yes.

But on the clickykeyboards website it says they are located in Princeton while this ships from NC. It also says on the clickykeyboards website that they hand wash everything and the dishwasher ruins it.
-
Yeah, Im pretty sure there's some plastic warping issues if you put Model Ms through the dishwasher.
-
damn i hope he didn't put it through the dishwasher.
-
I think if there was a serious problem, it would be evident on the picture.

Maybe he downloaded the pictures off a web site.
