Title: Realforce 23U Internals
Post by: SpAmRaY on Thu, 15 January 2015, 09:44:17
I'll add more pictures and do a proper writeup when I put it back together but wanted to share some internal pictures for the curious.

In case the forum pics go down here is an imgur album https://imgur.com/a/QZ3KE (https://imgur.com/a/QZ3KE)

*Can't seem to add pics at the moment will try again later.*  :-\

One thing I've seen that I find interesting is that the 23U PCB is setup to use all 1x keycaps or have 2 2x unit keys if the manufacturer decided to.

All you need is one more dome and spring!

Also, I assume the controller needs to actually support it... may not be the case.

They almost always do, if the PCB supports it.

Yeah, you are probably right, wouldn't make a lot of sense to design a crippled controller when it's probably a small incremental effort to support the entire PCB. I wonder what code the extra contact sends.
