Title: Can I Remap Keys with USB to USB Converter?
Post by: Defect on Fri, 16 January 2015, 09:04:43
Is there a way I can remap keys by implementing a converter (USB to USB)?

For instance, plug keyboard usb into converter USB and then plug converter into USB port on a laptop/PC.

I want to remap some keys on a nice keyboard that has an awkward layout.

Do those Soarer's Converters work to reprogram a keyboard?  Can it be done with USB to USB?

I do believe hasu may have made some of these converters but my searchfoo is weak this morning, perhaps someone else who knows more will chime in.

Thanks for the links.  I guess I'm having trouble figuring out how I would go about remapping keys as I've never used one of these before.

Hmm... And what that keyboard is? Just curious - most USB keyboards are usind standard hardware layout, no matter what letters are writted on keycaps. I heard about some Dvorak/Colemac hardware layout boards, but...

Some USB boards have weird modifier locations.  Sometimes they change where they want to put their FN keys.

Wanted to try mapping keys around in general.

Also wanted to see what I can do with a numpad.

Oh. Now I understand. I think you can do a lot with an usb convertor, if soft allows ;)
