Galaxy Class Round 2 was extended for a second go by MassDrop (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/galaxy-keycaps-set)! As of 6/7/15, there are 9 days left..
MassDrop reached out to me recently to do a second round of the Galaxy Class set, and I was happy to help out. I've heard from many folks who were sad they missed out on the first round, so I'm excited that the people who missed out on the first one will have a chance to get a set now. I for one am super happy with mine, and so glad this set got made. I've never made any money off of this set and have just been happy to help facilitate. :) There were a couple of tiny mods from Round 1, which is what makes this Round 2. However, we're currently in a second installment of the "Round 2" design.
You'll need to be a MassDrop member to see the listing and sign up for this group buy. If you're interested, try to join the buy early to help build momentum and make it more likely that we hit our price target. The goal is to better the prices offered last time, which MassDrop already seems poised to do.
There are a few improvements based on GeekHack member feedback from Round 1:
- a BLANKS set is on offer
- all black numpad legends this time
- a purple spacebar option
- FOR on the up arrow now reads FWD
The same ground-breaking screenprint dyesublimation process ensures ultra-high quality, ultra-durable legends. The same color codes as last time, including the custom Patone yellow that matches the screen-used original prop I have.

This has been mostly a MassDrop effort, but I'm happy to answer any questions I can or to pass any questions anybody has along to my contact at MassDrop.
Thanks again everyone for supporting this fan-driven enthusiast project. The creator of the LCARS design even made an admiring post on his Facebook wall about the first round. :D

I am so down for this, I might just get two sets. Because set #1 is going to my fiance who desperately wants one and will murder me otherwise.

Excellent! I'm so glad you like the set.
Please try to spread the word on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit, etc if you can. We want to make sure we hit the minimum. :)

An amazing set, I cancelled two other keycap sets I had ordered so that I may acquire this one
The word, it will be spread!
-
This set was very well thought out and cool. I hope it does just as well on Massdrop as it did on PMK! ;D
-
Here is pricing for the main tier, btw:
Printed dyesub legends
Core: $74.99
Numpad: $24.99
Battle bridge: $14.99
Blank
Core: $39.99
Numpad: $14.99
Battle Bridge (not that this set's existence makes much sense): $8.99
There are ISO, Tsangan, non-standard layouts, etc. For those, check out MassDrop's page. :)
I'm not sure if lower tiers will unlock if more people sign up or not.

This set is my favorite set EVER, SP did a great job in R1 and each cap was flawless !
I'm glad it is made available for Round 2 because a lot of people missed on a really special set :thumb:

I might jump on this.
I hope it's run better than Granite R2 was.

Fvck Oath, I missed the first version but not this one.
They look brilliant in quality as well, looks like SP has picked up their game with this version.

I wondered what this might look like with the Atomic layout...

Only 3 blanks from the num pad kit are required. I'll order a black 2x spacebar from SP separately. This one's a winner.

Wow. We're just a few days into the buy and already 255 sets have sold. I'm impressed by MassDrop's handling of this—and glad to see more folks who wanted it are going to be able to get a set this time.

Is there a point at which the number of buyers will dramatically impact production times?
Not that I care, I'd wait a year to have these :D

Numbers will not impact production times.

Exceptionally definitive - thank you for the response

Maybe it is time for a Klingon set too. I'm thinking black/grey with Red legends.
What about a Romulan set? I'm thinking black/blue with Green legends.

Only a few hours left on this buy. Don't forget to sign up if you ever wanted or want a copy of this set. :)

Received my Massdrop order yesterday and immediately put Galaxy Class on my unfinished Atomic board. It looks positively logical. I'll try to get some pics tonight or maybe this weekend if I have good light.
-
I doubt anyone will see it in here, but here's Galaxy Class on my 75% complete Atomic board.
Thanks for putting this together, norbauer.

MassDrop is at it again with Galaxy Class (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/galaxy-keycaps-set). Four days left (as of this posting on 9/7/15).

Nice set. Glad to see dye-sub PBT. My only misgiving is that it is DSA profile.
Of course not for the Galaxy Class set, but for future keycap sets would anyone happen to know if SP could be persuaded to do dye-sub PBT in a sculpted (i.e., not flat) profile, with either spherical or cylindrical tops?
Thanks, norbauer, for your splendid efforts on the Galaxy Class set.
