I think your trying too hard.It does make sense with what you are seeing, and I agree, its just that I also started out on reddit, and hated GH, even though I had never been on it, because Ripster makes it seem very strict, and not fun.
Setting up 'truemk' is only going to spur on the hate becasue your making it seem like we perceive our selves to be fundamentally better than them, which we aren't.
It would be better if you just participated in r/mk and tried to help the people there and contribute more and just worked slowly on making GH seem just like any other forum and see ripster as the heart broken teenager he is.
I think this is a cool idea but I don't really see it going anywhere. The average r/mk user just wants to see Corsairs and CM boards with a custom set from wasd, people don't move to GH until they want more from this hobby. Hell, when I started on r/mk I thought artisan caps and kustoms were ridiculous and I really liked ripster. I don't think there will be a strong following for this subreddit, that being said I'll subscribe. Good luck. Thanks, and I started out the same way, except I did want to see more, which is what brought me to GH. I loved the way GONs looked, and korean boards, but there is a total of about 2 posts of korean boards on there, so I joined GH to just lurk at the GON and Korean board threads, and thats when I realized that it isn't what Ripster made it out to be.
I feel doing things like this is what is perpetuating the whole "GeekHack vs /r/MK" mentality. If you truly want to stop that attitude than you should just ignore it.Well, the reason that I wanted to make truemk was so there was a neutral and highly accessible mechanical keyboards forum.

I'll be honest and say you most likely aren't going to go anywhere with this. I've been browsing /r/mechanicalkeyboards since before I ever had mine and it's obvious after any scrutiny that there's an animosity between ripster and you guys, albeit he seems to keep going on about it. Just leave it be.For me it's not about settling the arguments between the forums, but to introduce people into a neutral keyboard environment that is easily accessible.

Well, reddit has multi million users with many other forums that people browse, while we have a good bit less. The 2nd result when you google mechanical keyboard is r/mk . Sure, we might be more neutral than reddit, but there is still some heavy bias.

This forum is not neutral and highly accessible?
In as much as any collection of passionate and opinionated nerds will ever be neutral, of course.
this , it will never reach the popularity of /r/mk and besides ripster attacks towards GH /r/mk is mostly neutral .I'll be honest and say you most likely aren't going to go anywhere with this. It will likely never be easily accessible because there is little chance that people will just stumble onto the subreddit

there's always this
let's get some meaningful discussion going on at r/truemk!
I personally think this is a bad idea; we should just separate from /r/mk as much as possible, and that means reddit.Which is the point of /r/truemk , to try and seperate ourselves from /r/mk. I want to use /r/truemk as an entrance and neutral zone for everyone to interact, and to introduce. We don't want people being biased to any forums.

It has a higher chance of being forgotten than actually working, but I think it is worth my effort.I personally think this is a bad idea; we should just separate from /r/mk as much as possible, and that means reddit.Which is the point of /r/truemk , to try and seperate ourselves from /r/mk. hmm, I don't know. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't, and maybe it will just be forgotten.

We need to get ripster to STFU and all problems are solved
Or you could start encouraging people from GeekHack to post and share at Reddit, being nice and cross posting interesting stuff from here.Making a closed circle sub at Reddit I doubt will win hearts and minds, only further the opinion that GeekHack is a closed circle community with rules that stretches outside the forum. This so much .
I however dont see why both can coexist and have different agendas/target audiences. Think its fair to say that Reddit is more of a stepping stone, an introductory place for mechanical keyboard enthusiast while GeekHack is more of a high level of knowledge and experience.
As far as circle jerk goes I dont see much of a difference, both places have an abundance of it and would be more enjoyable if it didnt have a "us vs them" mentality. I would also suggest that thinking people having to agree with Ripster isnt healthy. Its not really true but that mentality is manifested due to the nature of Reddit, sadly I dont think that need/want/mentality is any stronger there than here.
I know Im part of the issue and will avoid furthering the negative aspects of GeekHack. Even if I enjoy a good pie throwing contest I can see how it lessens the experience of new users and has to be kept in check with out limiting users from expressing different opinions, like if the Clacks really are worth what they are worth and still having room to discus different views on subjective opinion. Like worth, attractiveness, craftsmanship and what the ultimate keyboard should be
That's all I have to sayQuoteTacticalStache

Tried it many times, usually get downvoted to he'll or tippy too comes in and turns it into something petty. Too many bought into the rooster is God and GH is the devil myths.

If you cant deal withone personsmost people's negative opinion what dose that say about you?
Wait, aren't you the guy who complained on reddit about how ****ty GH is after you were an obnoxious ****head?Link please? I am not good at clarifying, and I can further explain if there is confusion. I think I know what comment you are talking about, is it this one? http://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/2tkl9p/meta_announcing_new_subreddit_rtruemk/co0a33l?context=3
If you can't handle negative opinions what do you think that says about you?
It was a while ago, but it was definitely this guy. Just look through his comment history, it shouldn't be hard to find. How long ago, because I want to see it myself.
