That bezel is just so jarring. :-X
It would look so much nicer if they just sliced it off and kept the Das branding somewhere on the back of the board.
I kinda like that asymmetrical look. But it's too big. If them slimmed it down a bit I think it'd be better.
Well, the USB ports can definitely be useful, but other boards like the HHKB manage to have them without the ports jutting out of the side like that. That's just more of an aesthetic choice by DASThat bezel is just so jarring. :-X

I agree. That is a bit too much branding at the cost of better design and appearance. Are the USB ports really necessary and if so, do they have to be put there?
Keyboard appears nice save for that deformity :-X
I'd like it a lot more if the left side wasn't purposelessly asymmetrical.
OK, the file folder tab at the top of their full-size is goofy enough, but this thing on the side...
Isn't part of the point of a TKL to take up less horizontal space? They just added half of what they saved back, and that bezel was already huge.
Not a fan.
Not going to mince words here: the design is damn stupid.
Assymetry is not cool. Taking up extra desktop space is not cool. Not to mention, it means now the mouse is further from the keyboard if you are left handed.
why is the left side so big?
i wanna see pricing before i make more assumptions
if this is like $100 it's fine
if it's like $130... not so much

If DAS really has to put that thing on their KB, please put two of them at the bottom so they serve as a palm rest.

Just got an email about this, what do you guys think?

$143 and they only have browns right now. No thanks.

Send them back an Email to make it right. Why in the world would they do that? It's supposed to save space, not waste it.
If anything, put letters on the keys too. Blanks are a pain to me too. Oh, and tell them to make it a bluetooth while they are at it.
for everyone that says 'no left hump'
would you actually buy one if they made a new revision that is properly rectangular?
honestly?

Absolutely not, but it commits a number of other sins that'd keep me away:
- I have a board with a glossy frame. It's a magnet for EVERYTHING and looks awful even right after I clean it. I'm more annoyed by this than I am by the fact that my keyboard has a non-standard bottom row.
- I use the numpad for both alt codes and numbers several times a day, so TKL are a complete non-starter for me anyway. If I'm going for inconvenience I'll go straight to a 60% and save even more space because I use the arrows/the nine keys above them less than I use the number pad.
- That bezel is just plain too wide, period.
- Costs too much IMO for what it is.
I'm buying one.
I think it looks great. I would buy one if I did not already have more keyboards than I am currently using.

It was "Cherry MX Brown" at first, now they changed it. MX-Compatible confirmed?
Perhaps if they did this, it might be a lot more appealing to more people.
A compromise?
Not even Cherry for that price? What a joke!

Wonder what they are if they are "soft tactile Brown" but not Cherry....
I actually quite like the look of that keyboard, though I'm not a huge fan of the side hump (but don't really dislike it either). At least the USB ports are on the proper side now... Nothing like having a USB drive stick out of my numpad, making me get a second desk for my mouse because it's so far away. TKL with left-side ports... much better.
The finish and overall look appeals to me. I'm not super crazy about the build quality of my Das Keyboard 3 though, so I'm not sure what to make of this. I'm hoping it'll show up at Canada Computers locally so I can give it a go.

Apparently Greetech switches.

Fixed.Okay last one.
Fixed.
So every OEM has their own version of cherry mx compatible switches now? Oh the insanity.
Oh, it's Greetechs? I see.
Greetech switches are also used in A4tech and Royal Kludge products. For comparison on price, RK boards with Greetechs are 299 yuan ($47.85) for the regular version, and 419 yuan ($67.05) for the RGB backlit version (also compare that to the prices Corsair charges for their RGB boards!). Interestingly, they (RK) also say that Greetech was at some point OEM for Honeywell. Reviews say pretty much the same things as they do with Kailh-- feels more or less like Cherry MX, with maybe some slight differences or inconsistencies. As with Kailhs, it's hard to know how much of the difference is reality and how much of it is people noticing inconsistencies that they wouldn't notice on Cherry switches because of the difference in expectations.

Wow, and Das is trying to sell these at $143USD. That's a riot.

Just wait for Cooler Master pro gaming rapid switches
Pad printed keycaps too. :thumb:
Pad printed keycaps too. :thumb:But.. I.. just... what?
I would. I keep reading good things about DAS, but a few things stopped me from getting one: fingerprint magnet finish, that hump and no TKL until now.I take back what I said earlier about getting one if they change the design. $143 with Greetech switches  Greentech will have to prove its worthiness before they can get my hard earned money.

Even if it did have Cherry switches, it's still just a TKL with ABS keycaps. There's nothing about this keyboard that makes it worth even close to that price, IMO.
Does not use Cherry switches.

A compromise?Much improved. And please Das, put the USB ports on the back of the keyboard so the cables don't get in the way of the mouse.
