Title: [eBay] New? IBM Model F-122
Post by: jdcarpe on Wed, 04 February 2015, 16:03:06
This had a BIN of 400 CAD, until someone put a bid on it. Starting bid was 200 CAD.

Says "New in Original Packaging," but there is no foam or IBM box. Just a UPS shipping box and shrink wrap.

Zero (0) feedback seller in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Bid at your own peril. :)

Yeah, I saw it yesterday when it had the BIN option, but zero feedback seller kept me far away.

I also have a feeling it may not be new. I asked the seller to post more pics and he just did.   Though it could be a clean but used unit.   One way to tell is to lift up a few keys and see if there is any hair/gunk on the metal under the keys (I let them know this).

The short F122 cord in his photo appears to be well stretched out like this was used a while.

Light dust or scuffs may not mean it's used,  as it may have sat on a shelf in the open before it was boxed and shipped.

Even if it's not new, it's in great condition. The top half of the case appears practically flawless and the scuffing on the bottom is no big deal. The metal backing looks like it just needs a good wipe.

Best way to determine newness for Fs is to see the barrel plate. It needs to be dirt/dust and corrosion free.

Here's an example of a NIB F 122 internal assembly that I got sometime back:
