Hi all, so I've been part of the mechanical keyboard community for a decent amount of time now, and finally decided to come on over to Geekhack after hearing so much about it. Right now I currently have 2 Ducky boards. a Shine 2 TKL with Blacks, and a Zero DK2108 with Reds, which I both enjoy a ton. I've been wanting to get involved in the mech keyboard community for quite some time, but have always been slightly intimidated by all the crazy collectors and enthusiasts haha. Well anyway, glad to be here, hopefully I'll be one of you eventually ;D

Welcome to Geekhack!
There's some keyboard collections out there that are huge! I only have about 9 or 10 mechanical keyboards, which might sound like a lot, but some people have dozens and dozens of them!
It is not the size of your collection, it is what you do with it ;)

I do have 1 question though haha, how does a board with Topre switches feel compared to MX Blacks or Reds? The one board I've been looking at for a long time now is the HHKB Pro 2 (or a Realforce). Only the price has been keeping me back.

Completely different feel.
Reds and blacks are linear - the just slide smoothly to the bottom and back up.
Topre has greater initial resistance, then is buttery smooth all the way down.
HHKB is 45g Topre, and MX reds are also 45g, but the HHKB feels stiffer due to the different force curve.
MX blacks are much stiffer than reds, many people find them too stiff, but I like them. And I like HHKB. MX reds are too light for me though.
