Title: Saying hello and asking for suggestsion ...
Post by: brokencog on Fri, 06 February 2015, 14:16:08
I've been lurking on the forums, reading posts etc.  But only recently felt a need to ask a question of my own.

I've been using a TEKB for a couple years and enjoy it - it has the right amount of split to suit my hands, is mechanical and firmware to customize layouts.  The downside is it's cost.  I'm trying to find something with similar merits which I can get my company to buy for work.  Mostly here people have bought variants of the MS Natural and felt good about themselves.  We all know one can do better.

If anyone could suggest a keyboard which is 1) split 2) sub-$200 3) mechanical I'd be interested in the link.
Firmware/wireless options are actually undesirable ... but send 'em if you've got 'em.

Thanks again for the great forum posting -- maybe now I won't be such a lurker...

Welcome to Geekhack!

I googled TEKB and found lots of pictures of guys with no shirts

Ergo Dox is one very popular split keyboard, and you can build one yourself to save money, but I think most of them would come in over $200.
