Title: Question on mixing keys.
Post by: Bromono on Wed, 11 February 2015, 07:09:43
In order to fill out my keyboard with all the keys I need I have to pull some keys off another keyboard.

Would the profile/color be off if I mixed some keys from a desko with a G81-7000

All I would take off from the 7000 would be the short shift, Numpad 1u + and 0 key.

Hoping the color difference won't be that huge. Maybe retro bright the crap out of the Desko set?

Profile won't be different. Will work fine.

The materials might be different though and that always throws me too. But you're probably not as picky as I am lol.

You wouldn't know on top of your head of a donor board that would have the same materials?

Desko is already kind of weird since i think it mixes PBT and ABS

Desko sets and Cherry sets are the exact same keys for the doubleshots. Color is a different story. Some sets may be 100% color match, it just depends. Cherry used a LOT of different tones of white/beige. Mixing sets in that color family is the most frustrating to me since minor variations in tones look worse in my eyes than things that are distinctively different.
