Black Licorice
Black Coffee
Figs
Not really gross, but I love 'em and people have called each of those things gross to me.
potato pizza. soft tvorog.
Durian is one I can't do. It's way, way, way too intense for me. It smells like a tire fire and tastes like... well, a tire fire.
With all the food I eat, probably a lot of stuff :pYou bulking, bro?
I'm filipino and I love eating balut (google it if you don't know what it is) whenever I go back to the Philippines to visit family etc. A LOT of people that I've talked to about this dish find it disgusting that I would eat something like that, but honestly I don't find it too bad (it's actually really nice IMO). I kind of just see it as how you would see a cooked roast chicken, but instead of being cooked in an oven it's cooked within its own egg.

balut is definitely one of the stranger foods I've heard of, never tried it though.
Black LicoriceI could never get on the black licorice train, but It's always annoying when people act like I'm gross for drinking black coffee. I was in line at Dunkin' Donuts this morning, and the person in front of me was ordering a coffee with extra cream/sugar. I wanted to ask them if they wanted any coffee with their sugar, but I know coffee preferences vary greatly and would never fault anyone for drinking what they like. Just don't hate on black coffee!

on the topic of eggs, quail eggs rank amongst my favorite food, though i've never seen it in Europe or North America

The yellow part (what turns into the embryo) is the yolk. Quail eggs are pretty common in the South. I used to buy them by the jar (pickled) in gas stations where I used to live.
The yellow part (what turns into the embryo) is the yolkyou're right, i meant to say the egg white. whatever it is, it doesn't make for a pleasant sensation once it enters your mouth
I was just about to delete that part...didn't want to come across as a know it all doosh. Too late. :p
Yeah, if they were packaged there at the gas station I may have not been so willing TP.
yeah, it's like cottage cheese.potato pizza. soft tvorog.
isn't tvorog like cottage cheese without the water?
or is it something else?
Durian? I love it but I think non-asians hate it for it's smell and taste.Show Image(http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2013/12/03/travel/video-travel-durian/video-travel-durian-articleLarge.jpg)
I wouldn't say I eat them a lot, but people are often grossed out by black pudding and haggis.I used to love black pudding with lingonberry jam before I became a vegetarian. It never reminded me of meat anyway.
There was a guy at my office who ate one. Didn't smell so nice.

it looks like a sardine. if someone just saw it, they would think it's a regular small fish. and then go 'ewwwww'?

BirriaWhy would people think it’s weird to eat Birria? Their family raised pet goats or something?

A lot of people (myself not included) think sardines/anchovies are pretty gross
I used to be addicted to snus but the wife didnt like it so I quit.Snus is not food. It is a tobacco-based drug. Food is swallowed. You don't swallow snus, just as you don't swallow cigarettes.
I put peanut butter on my hotdogs./slowclap

I think very few people think mini-lobsters are gross..
Although, I'm not a shellfish fan in general, cuz they remind me of roaches.. with the 2 antennae
Sardines ugh.. it's just not good.. LOL, that's why it's usually sold strongly pre-flavored..You’re crazy. Sardines are delicious. You want to get the kind packed in good olive oil though, with the bones and skin included. You can usually find 5–6 different good brands at any Italian deli/grocery, or the ones they sell at Costco are also pretty good. Try a few different brands/types to figure out what you like. “Pre-flavored” probably just means “bad”.

Mayonnaise seems like a good house divider.
Especially on fries or eggs.
Speaking of, ketchup on eggs.
I think someone mentioned, but proper barbacoa (cheek meat) and beef tongue as well. Someone else just has to peel the tongue first.
Yesterday night we went to a local Japanese restaurant for dinner. This place is more authentic and is run by an old Japanese guy. We've seen Japanese company men meeting here for dinner and drinks for the couple of times we've been here.
For yesterday's dinner, we ordered amaebi, which is sweet shrimp sushi. We ordered this because they had these huge live shrimp (about 7 inches long) in a tank in the front of the restaurant. When getting amaebi from other Japanese restaurants, it was always a piece of sushi rice with a raw shrimp tail on top, and a deep fried shrimp head.
This time the amaebi arrived on a huge plate. There were the usual raw shrimp tails on top of sushi rice pieces, and also the huge shrimp heads from those large shrimp from the tank. But these shrimp heads weren't deep fried... and they were still moving. They were the entire front parts of the shrimps and were stood up on the plate, with head, eyes, legs, and antennae. And everything was moving. We were a little freaked out, haha. I moved the plate off to the other side of the table until the shrimp stopped moving, which was more than a couple of minutes. I felt pretty bad for the shrimp. Later on the waitress came by and asked if we wanted to have the heads deep fried or made into a soup. We chose the soup.
Very interesting, but a little too authentic and fresh for us. Fresh is always ideal, but I don't need to see that much proof about how fresh something is. I love to eat shrimp, but I think I will take a short break from eating shrimp, haha.
You don't even feign preparation for this.
Trust me, you'll love it
Dude, I love white dudes, so why wouldn't I love eating a live shrimp marginally prepared by one?

For some reason my wife is grossed out by me eating this, the kids however really liked it.

...by the way, I love Braunschwager. I think most people are "grossed" out by foods because they think they are supposed to react that way or they have been (indirectly) trained to react negatively to foods that they haven't had before. Just watch TV sometime...
Yeah I've wanted to order from them for a while but can't ever decide what all to get.(Attachment Link)

and i like beef tongue as long as it's sliced/chopped up so it doesn't look like a tongue.
Would like to add sauerkraut. I probably can't be friends with you if you don't like it, in fact.
Also, tendon in my phở.
I cannot get down with chicharrones though. The slimier the worse.
Yeah I've wanted to order from them for a while but can't ever decide what all to get.
What do you like on your Braunschweiger? I hear all you need is soft white bread, mayo or mustard, and a little onion.

not after you've just watched it writhing on your plate screaming "kill me now".
