Hey,
So I'm trying to figure out a way to connect my Topre 105/u via the ps/2 port. A regular usb f to ps/2-m won't do, apparently the adaptor has to be active. However during my search I have only found active adaptors that work the other way around, ie usb m to ps/2 f.
Do you know a specific one that works the way I describe, that is active ps/2 male and usb female?
Thanks in advance!

You have a computer too old to have USB ports? An old laptop to which you can't fit a USB PCI card?

I don't think I've ever seen an active converter, though I don't think I've ever seen anyone with your problem

Thats active but they are reversed of what I need.

Summary: The converter exists, but a KVM is cheaper.

Nice! Did not know such a thing existed. Indeed very pricy.

Thanks for your reply. Ouch that is pricey indeed.

I've read about people using an arduino to communicate with a computer PS/2 port (act as a PS/2 keyboard). With a USB host shield for one you could probably make the adaptor.

I want to know why you are so keen on using your board with PS/2.
I mean, there is sort of the benefit that PS/2 is "faster" however that really shouldn't matter to anyone IMO.
Since the PS/2 port isn't simply plug-and-play, it just makes it that much less convenient to use.

WOW
I am not experience in any way whatsoever with these sorts of things, but could an active converter really cost that much?
Is there anyone here who has done a DIY project for this?

Found another item like this - a bit cheaper though.

Most high end mechanical keyboards will work with a passive USB to PS/2 adapter. Most of them actually require that to get NKRO. Usually the description will mention something like NKRO over PS/2 or 6 KRO over USB. My guess is that the PS/2 adapter you are using is for mice and not keyboards. Keyboard ones tend to be purple in color. Mice are green. Not sure on your specific model, but it seems to say that it is PS/2 compatible for the 105/ub, though not sure what the B in the part number means.

No I've tried purple, thanks though. I tested another keyboard so I know the ps/2 converter and the ps/2 port are working fine. May I ask where you find info on the 105u supporting ps/2 through a converter?
