Title: Leading Edge DC-2014
Post by: nubbinator on Sat, 14 February 2015, 18:25:12
Hopefully it doesn't go too high, but it has Blue Alps.  It really shouldn't go for more than $60 IMO, but I've seen some go for over $100.

Blue alps still winning the hype train? I reckon this will fetch a pretty price for them blues. I forget what I paid for mine, something like $50?

I'm not a huge fan of clicky switches, but I still prefer click modded Orange Alps to Blue Alps.

Damn, was hoping I could snipe it :p .

Are they ALWAYS Blue Alps though? There is another what seems to be DC-2014 on eBay which doesn't appear to have them: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Leading-Edge-AT-Style-Unusual-Keyboard-/151065549650?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item232c355b52

I've never seen one without them. That one doesn't look like a DC-2014 since it's missing the groove along the top and has a few different style keycaps.

Surely it's going to go high, just for the switches.

Doesn't even have enough switches for a transplant, annoyingly xD .

Doesn't even have enough switches for a transplant,

There are easy substitutes. Specs for Alps switches are deceiving.

White and blue have nearly identical specifications. I have done blue Alps transplants with a handful of the lesser-used keys done in white, and you never know the difference if you are only pressing the key rarely.

Likewise, blacks are an entirely adequate substitute or fill-in for orange/salmon/pink.

I would recommend against mixing clicky and non-clicky keys, however. I have done it and it is disorienting. The only possible exception would be a small number of clicks in very specific places such as numlock or F2.
