Title: Bored of the content at /r/mechanicalkeyboards

Hey guys, I've been a lurker here for a couple weeks and I'm semi-active on /r/mechanicalkeyboards, but I need more. I've gotten bored of all the custom WASD boards with terrible fonts that people post there and the 20x daily poker 2 posts. I think that this community has a lot more to offer and I look forward to awesome keyboard porn, groupbuys, and knowledge base that you guys have here.

I've got a Filco MJ2 with cheap Olivette replicas which are soon to be replaced by GMK Dolch from ZealPC! I also have a Realforce 87u 55g, which is currently rocking WASD caps from Elitekeyboards.

Welcome!

You have a great collection, be sure to snap some pics of the Dolch set on your filco, I think those two are a match made in heaven.  I think you'll find the content here a bit more stimulating, as we have some very cool things going on in "making stuff together" as well as some great stuff in "off-topic" too.  I can definitely understand how the repetition of content on reddit can get stale after some time.

Yeah... this is the most disgusting trend ever......

Shoes are meant to be worn outside...

I NEVER let shoes go past my foyer, let alone my bedroom or office, and most certainly not my desk.

The only exception is my calf leather and shell cordovan shoes when I need to clean and polish them (but only after I brush them down vigorously with a horsehair brush at my doorstep).

Yep, that kind of childish stuff is a turn off for me and is one of the reasons I'm turning away from that community.

Yes my Filco needs GMK! I think the only thing that I like about reddit is that the general layout and navigation makes more sense to me, but I'm sure I'll learn how things work here quickly. Hopefully this is the correct way to reply, and thanks for the welcome!

I just deleted the pics and edited the content. I really didn't mean to offend anyone, those were just the only pics that I had of my boards when I wrote the OP. To be honest the reason I bought it is that I read on r/mk that clack/bro didn't have copywrites (or whatever your supposed to have for those). I was misled - I don't mean to support criminals or anyone profiting from someone else's work. I just thought it looked cool at the time and was that it was relatively cheap.

Anyways, welcome and hope you get to see how awesome GH is.  There's a **** ton of content here and a ton of threads to help you learn and delve even deeper.

+1 on the wasd keyboards. I swear i see at least 2 posts there about them every day about someone getting new keycaps from them, and in my opinion, they look so bad :(

Yeah the printing looks really fuzzy, and some of the fonts people choose are pretty bad.

as a noob I honestly don't get the shoe thing either.  i can admit that I find value in both forums but putting a nasty shoe on a computer desk and then snapping a picture of it is just bizarre.

Hell yeah! The only reason I'm using my Filco w/browns right is so that when i put Gaterons in it I can tell the difference better (and cyan+Dolch is awesome).
