You'll also realize that we don't hate /r/mk, all that drama was spawned by Ripster. The "beef" between the two communities is one way - Ripster is fighting a war in which he is the only participant.

I'm currently using a Model M, and I've got a Quickfire Rapid with browns and a custom wooden casehttp://imgur.com/a/gF4iL (http://imgur.com/a/gF4iL). Waiting on my JD40 with clears. My next board will either be a Shine Mini with blacks or I might build and Ergodox.

Welcome! Drama aside, I also started from r/mk and did find that the grass here is actually much greener. Maybe you will, too.Yeah I did the same. People like to make out like GH is an elitist club or something but you get out what you put in. If you're willing to participate there is a wealth of knowledge and some very kind, generous people here.

If anything I think /r/mk has gotten worse with time, seems like all Ripster does is hate on GH these days when it was much less silly a couple of years ago when I first subbed there. Doesn't help that most redditors eat it up without actually checking this place out first.

It's possible to enjoy both sites! I spend more time here and it feels more like a community, but I flip through r/mk too. I think it's just as easy to avoid all the drama as it is to get caught up in it :rolleyes:
