Hi guys, below is a post on Craigslist. This seems like a steal to me. I believe I can sell the computer for what I'll pay for everything and get a free hopefully buckling spring ibm. Yea I know the layout is not ideal but it is interesting. It has a num pad, just no arrows. What do you guys think? Get it or leave it?
QUOTE "I have a nice "vintage" IBM model 5150 computer. Works, has internal HDD and 5 1/4" floppy. Boots to DOS5 (if i recollect). 1MB memory in it. A handful of cards in it, not sure what's what.
Included is a functioning IBM "Clackity" keyboard in working condition (there is a mark on the lower part of the keyboard.
Also included in a monchrome (green) CRT. The plastic on the top gave way (as you can see in the pics) and some of the pixels have gone bad (see pics), but it still works.
These are still collectible PC's. The keyboard alone goes on Ebay for about $50-60. Get the whole setup for $100." END QUOTE

I've always wanted a 5150. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely go in on it with you, so that you could have the keyboard.

Vintage collectors really dig gear of that ilk. IBM-branded is a triple plus.
I think that you should snag it.

I guess the fact that the monitor is broken on the top shouldn't affect my decision? I mean the "tower" works and that it pretty impressive for something of that age

Anyone around the my way interested? Like I said all I want is the keyboard. It is locate d about 30 Min south of Philadelphia. Intersection of 476 and Baltimore pike.

I'd give you $100 shipped for the PC and monitor. So basically, you'd get the keyboard for whatever it costs to ship me that heavy large box haha.

I pmed you jd

I say go for it. The story you'll have as you're showing off the keyboard is surely worth something.
...and I have one of those keyboards, they're pretty nice...
