Spilt a cup of hot black tea over in an instant while trying to catch a small moth. Narrowly missed the board but covered a third of the desk and partially inside my mouse. At least it wasn't sticky like the time when I spilt soda over it a while ago, which had me concerned over stuck keys
What are some of your spill stories?

Cold Tea. Splashed board but mostly hit the rest of the desk. Close shave!
-
Full glass of orange juice. All over the board. :(
Fortunately it was a rubber dome. :)

Eh. It was expendable. Is that when you switched to mechanical?

Nope, took it to the sink, tipped it upside down, rinsed it with water, let it dry and kept using it for a long time after. Only switched to mechanical about 10 years later... Took me way too long.

Must've spilled milk in and on my previous keyboard half a dozen times in total... Like Oobly that was a rubber keyboard, and I also used that for about 10 years before the A and S keys were worthless xD . Should've switched much sooner!

My wife spilled a full beer onto my $30 Logitech wireless keyboard.... which led to me buying a bright coloured Steelseries rubber dome........ which a few weeks later led me to a Model M SSK.
Best spill ever.

Shame you didn't get to drink the beer though.

This is fact. A good beer fell, but from the ashes rose a wonderful typing experience and complete ban of beverages around my computer.
-
If ashes were involved, it probably wasn't good beer after all.

Hmmm.. I don't know, this stuff sounds like it'd be pretty good actually: http://store.coopers.com.au/recipes/index/view/id/9/ ;)
RD boards do tend to shrug off spills better than most mechanicals due to their design, although I suspect Topre boards would handle pretty well.

Managed to get green fountain pen ink on my SSK. Luckily it wasn't a big spill. But there's been a few times where I've spilled water or ink very close to my boards.
-
i once spilled a beer near my keyboard... fortunately it spilled in the opposite direction and caused no harm to anything on my desk save for a few pens and an already dead iPod.
-
I once laughed hard at a joke on screen while drinking a cup of coffee, and spit a small droplet on the J key. I wiped it off with my free hand and drank the rest of the coffee.

Nothing beats the guy that **** on his keyboard when he stood up and turned around

wtf
Worst I done is spill cola on myself at the desk because my lips somehow stopped working.

The only time I've spilled anything on my desk was a glass of water, and that got soaked up by my Tekmat, keyboard unscathed

I keep the rubber dome keyboard at work on the desk just behind my WASD.
One day I picked up my bottle of diet coke and missed my mouth a whole lot. Laughed when I saw it on the rubber dome. Froze when I saw it on the F keys of my WASD. A small break and a lot of tissue paper later, it was sorted.
Then there was the time at i52 this summer, where I had my PC on the desk, next to my V60 mini playing a game of Dota... I swear Bloodcyka makes you mad... Anyway, I had a bottle of water open on the desk, and I did something stupid and slammed my fist down on the table. Bottle and water went everywhere, keyboard, desk, papers, lap... underneath my PC...
That was probably the worst. I pretty much stopped playing dota after that.

I spilt a whole bunch of glass inches away from my keyboard. Cut my thumb while cleaning it up.

a few months ago i spilled some aloe drink (http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/106572660/aloe_vera_drink.jpg) on my filco with mx browns. i tried to use verous methods of cleaning... from 99% iso bath to dabbing with water. lubing the switches. got close with getting them not be stuck but most where sticky. they would come up but alot of the time only 3/4 of the way up. after a few weeks of iso scrubbing... btw i started off with q tips... but the sugar buildup was so sever that i moved on to using my electric toothbrush with an old head to help with the labor. eventually i gave up the switches couldnt be saved by normal washing means. i need to get into the switch... when i did i saw goobers of sticky syrop. it looked like a maple farm! so went on mechanicalkeyboards.com and to my surprise clears where on sale. i snagged a 120 pack for my filco... a week later they arrived. since the browns where pretty much trash... with a bit of patience i desoldered all the brown switches, and the diodes. i opened up the browns and salvaged the spring and stem. cleaned and lubed the spring and viola, i had modded 45g clear switches.
what was left to do was to clean the case and pcb of any residual sugar residue... and resolder everything.
the final result.
