Personally I like to buy my keyboards with a minimalistic design with no FN or funky looking media keys.
I also feel like i wouldn't use them even if i had them. Those keys would probably sit idle like the Scroll Lock key
So what do other people on GH think about them?

It depends on the person and their media-related habits. Personally I don't have any use for them, but I can't imagine using the HHKB without a Fn key. A TKL or fullsize one doesn't need one though imo.

I like the leopold layout

I like having them on a Fn layer so I can use them if I need to, but I hardly ever need to, so.... I don't really mind not having them at all, but I prefer to have options.
Having them on an Fn layer means you don't need to mess up the looks of the board and yet you still have the functionality.

I don't have any use for them, especially as implementations are all wonky with some working with standard HID specs and other manufacturers requiring special drivers (You know who you are. Ahem.)
In any case, It's best to put them on a fn layer. That way you can still have them without annoying those who don't want them.

Originally got a custom because it annoyed me that poker didn't have it in the fn layer.
After getting back to a poker for a while, I can live without but it's just so more comfortable.
Only media buttons I use are : Prev,Play/Pause,Next,Vol+,Vol-,Volx
