I'm pretty pleased with their new Cherry White non-clicky tactile Legend.
I felt my new tactile legend w/cherry whites felt just too similar to my old cherry black one. There's a noticeable difference, but I was hoping for a bit more difference I guess.
I was on that forum and was disturbed to see it go. It seemed to happen right after I asked the site admin if I could use that forum to sell my old deck. He gave me the go-ahead, then the next day the forum closed. So I apologize to everybody for singe-handedly shutting down the deck forums... At least in my mind it was my fault.

I made the same comment in my review on the Deck forum. I was AKA Deck4ever out there.
"(...)The difference between the tactile feel and the linear feel is much more subtle than I expected.
(...) I already like the tactile better than the linear but I don’t think such a marginal difference worth that amount of money. Unless you are growing money on trees or really need a second Deck, if you already own a linear, I suggest you pass. Otherwise, I highly recommend this keyboard."
that's a good thing so everyone from there can join out forum! (;
Better check to see if DeckGuy got the pink slip first.
hopin i can get some help here. im considering buying a deck 'tactile' keyboard. my last 'expensive' kb was a razer(combined with my mouse probs- 3rma's on the death adder- i think razer has some real qc issue) tarantula. the pos barely made it past warranty(really wished i would have known about this forum back then) so right now im using the g15 i handed down to my wife & she is using the old saitek. anyway u get the picture on my experince with kb. or lack of lol.
so i really like the way the way the legend looks, the way it appears to be built & the components used- all info mostly gleaned from here- but i have concerns about the longevity/support of the company. their failure to respond to a cpl of questions i emailed to them last wednesday(i let them know i was interested in buying the kb in the email) basically wanting confirmation concerning the type of switches- supposed to be whites but i read somewhere(prolly here) that they were considering browns, & if they had a preference for the frost kb as far as usb/ps2 went. having not received a reply(combined with the fourms closing), my confidence in them being around long enough to fullfill the length of my warranty & let alone support/parts down the road is shaky.
i know im waffling but this is the most ive spent on a kb by far. & while i dont mind spending $$ on my rigs(both fluid cooled, ocd & modded) when i have it(which is getting harder to come by...), the razer fiasco has left me a little gun shy & more importantly the amount of razzing from my wife if it happens yet again(just had to rma my friggin mb & replace the other pos razer- my mouse) would be intolerable ;)
anyway any guidance appreciated
I mean, who has the authority here to open a new Geekhack forum?
well, i called them to see what was going on, & she said that she had sent a reply to my email, & i believe her so thats good, for clrity my comp is dowm with mb rma, & my wifes outlook setup is confusing to me at best, so i definetly could have missed/deleted it.
she said the forums were taken down because of cost cutting measures, basically the guy doing it is better utilising is time.
inventory is fine so no issues there, so unless she is an very good bs'r & was shining major sunshine up my behind sounds like they r doing ok but r tightening belts like everyone else.
so, going to order it tomorrow. should arrive by the time i get my replacement mb installed & the new h20 setup setup & tested.
thx again for everyones input.
A $1,000 keyboard? Now I wonder why he thought we were elitist??
i also have issue with my rt arm, my elbow as had extensive surgery & my arm has limited movement & is in constant pain, wich is the main reason i tend to use as many shortcuts as possible. im hoping at some point to make up for this deficit with faster, correct typing. obviously it will take a while.
Hey dude, you get a pass. Anybody in pain can type any damn way they want to. Sorry, we didn't know the circumstances and assumed it was a 16 yr old (now all the 16 yr old's are going to come down on me - they tend to be the fastest typists around here).
wow. thanks guys! appreciate the great comments & suggestions.
ive considered speak programs, but for whatever reasons cant get enthused about it. i am determined to type 'correctly' & more importantly for me- with higher rate. right now i have to look at the keyboard & use 2 fingers... lol.
anyway, thanks again. i truly appreciate it.
its a good thing as it will stop me from 'lazy' typing. going to have to put lidoderm patches on my arm first though. lol.
BTW, if you don't mind me asking, what did you do to your arm or what disability were you born with? I actually used to work in physical rehab before I went off and became a computer guy.
i stretch/work it out everday otherwise it would be considerably worse. as i know you are aware its all about keeping it as limber as possible, working out your system for adapting(i use my lt hand considerably more now, got real tired of dropping ****-the $30 wine glass that i had just filled with a '95 pine ridge cab was the final straw lol)) & moving onward. which is pretty much were im at:)
it is as good as its going to get baring any improvemants from another surgery- wich i have serious doubts about. my mission is to not let it get worse, have seen-as i know you have- to many people let their injury/pain get the best of them. after a while it is an easy thing to do.
for reference, before i injured my arm i was doing curls with 45lb dumbells- 2 sets of 10. recently got myself to doing 1 set of 10 with 15lb. my goal is 2 sets of 8 with 20lb but dont think its going to happen. i can still do the 45lb with my lt arm;)
You should really look into the DataHand. It may not be the solution, but there's a chance it's the perfect one for your situation, and if that is the case, it is "cheap". Only problem is you can't try these (or even buy these)to check if this is really the case ;)
