Maybe the question is written that way intentionally.
Maybe the question is written that way intentionally.
BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE D:
Nice giveaway. That said, that math problem needs parenthesis and clarification. As is, it's not really easy to parse.
Is it supposed to be: 2x2+2x2+2-2x2
Or is it: (2x2)+(2x2)+2-(2x2)
Or is it: (((((2x2)+2)x2)+2)-2)x2
And why do the first two lines not equal anything?
And if the x is a variable, a x and X separate variables?
It might be easier if you use * for multiply and x for x
And I am also curious as to why the first lines don't equal anything
question needs to rewritten, currently it's open ended
The goal is probably to find the good way to interpret the question, not be able to solve a simple mathematical expression. There's many way to interpret the question. Choose one and try!

Hi guys, yeah sorry for making it a bit tricky and complicated. Ill revise the question to a much simpler one. Dont want to give the impression on making it hard to attain a free cap :-[
And just incase you guys want to know the answer, it should be written below and applying MDAS as a rule.
Question:
2x2+2x2+2-2x2
2+2-2x2+2+2X2
2/2x2-2+2+2-2 = X
Then combine:
2x2+2x2+2-2x22+2-2x2+2+2X22/2x2-2+2+2-2 = X
Then apply MDAS:
2x2+2x2+2-2x22+2-2x2+2+2X22/2x2-2+2+2-2 = -61
;D
Really sorry about the first game. im just really obsessed in math and tricks which is kind of fun for me solving this kind of puzzles.
So i changed the 1st game with a simpler one, i hope. Just count the number of difference between the 2 pic and PM me the answer.
What was the answer :P

What's a bracket then, { or [ ? To me ( is a bracket, { is a curly bracket and [ is a square bracket. Parenthesis is an alternate name for ( but it's a longer word so you'll never get people to use it.
Sorry to say we, the creators and namegivers of the language you claim to speak, also have "zed" drives so yes, you're saying it wrong :p I wonder which they teach in non English speaking countries - which do you say Krytone?
I hope you don't mind the publicity caused by our OT ramblings, the thread was moved here :))
[ = bracket
( = parenthesis
{ = braces
At least that's what I learned in school
I got to 3 but there had to be more than that :))

Lol, actually i found the difference in the pronunciation of "Z" depending on what country you are in. Since Malaysia have been influenced by UK (I think), they pronounce it as "ZED" but for countries influenced by USA, its "Zee". Just my experience going to other countries :p
Ok, we have a number of people who got the answer right. The first one though that answered correctly and followed the rules is....
BlueNalgene
Correct answer is 5 difference
Sir BlueNalgene, pls pm me to discuss further the prize :)
Ok for the next game, im still thinking of what it should be and will update the OP once it is decided. Thanks to everyone who joined!

Yay! I am super excited. PM sent. Good luck to everyone in the subsequent contests.

Um... but the rule is that you should apply division and multiplication left to right if there's no parentheses.
So that makes it:
2x2+2x2+2-2x22+2-2x2+2+2X22/2x2-2+2+2-2 = X
2x2+2x2+2-2x22+2-2x2+2+(((2X22)/2)x2)-2+2+2-2 = X
4 +4 +2-44 +2-4 +2+44 -2+2+2-2 = 10
X = 10
Or actually, since there's a capital X in there, if you assume multiplication between touching values, we get:
2x2+2x2+2-2x22+2-2x2+2+2X22/2x2-2+2+2-2 = X
4+4+2-44+2-4+2 -2+2+2-2 = X-2X22/2x2
-34 = X-44X
-34 = -43X
X = 34/43
If you assume 2X22 means 2*X^22, then you get:
-34 = X-2X^22/2x2
-34 = X-2X^22
Um, which is a bit more, um, difficult... but let's try:
-2X^22 + X + 34 = 0
X = 1.1391477477508877 approximately.
For my first attempt I simply assumed the first 2 lines were not relevant since they were not part of the line with the "=". So they were not part of the equation. Thus X=2. Now where's my cap? ;)

Damn, and i thought that its kind of hard to guess since its way way back.
Sifo
Correct answer is The Kid
Sir Sifo, i'll pm you on sending over the cap :)
Let me see if i can think of a harder one :p

I was referencing the Bronin.
I don't think I ever confirmed what exactly I got. It may or may not be a bronin.
However I am delighted to get to see this 6 shot keycap!
Do we get to know the answer?
