I'm decently new but I decided I might as well start racking up my posts so I can start participating in classifieds and group buys. I just picked up a Poker II so my goal right now is to snag some artisan caps. Those suckers intrigue me so much.
I'm actually pretty interested in learning to make my own caps. I've been spending an ungodly amount of time in the cap creation threads learning about the process others have gone through. Once I get some free time, I'm making my first mold and going in head first.

Oh. Awesome! I was a little bummed when I read I could participate until then but I'm glad it just means I can't start my own until later. Thanks for clearing that up!

I understand the thing with making keycaps is to start, and to expect a few fairly dramatic failures before you get something half decent. Pretty much all of the artisans around here went through the same process when they were starting, and look where most of them are now!
Just a suggestion - keep a few of the better failures as a record of your keycap making journey. They could become collectibles one day!
