Truth: POOR STUDENT WANT TO CUT HIS OWN KEYBOARD CASE

After a small chat on IRC a few weeks ago I finally decided to get started with this project, with my recently acquired access to the machine shop of my school, now it's only a matter of getting the design files and actually cutting it (and I hope it's this easy). The project that motivated me is Photekq's TEK board: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=41202.0 (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=41202.0), which I heard is cut from a block of aluminum.

I have no previous experience with CAD at all and no experience with fabrication machinery at all (I am a math/physics major :| ), so a lot of failures (valuable experiences) are anticipated. I don't expect this to be an easy task, so any advises from the geekhack community will be invaluable for me! I think I will start with a TKL case and see how things works out from there.

You're in the right subforum.  There are already several sticky posts with CAD resources.  Good luck.
