To remove the spacebar, can I just pull it up?

I got the two sides to pop but it seems something is holding it in the center. I got a type s if that matters.

The center is where the keycap attaches to the Topre slider, if you carefully pull up with equal pressure along the space bar then it should pop off relatively easily. I also found it difficult to remove mine the first time I tried but if you are careful then you should be fine.

Yeah, I've heard stories of that spring flying off and never being seen again.
