ah, it's vortex. that would explain it.
anyway, is the OP an emergency type of thing or what? like, do you give yourself a shot daily with it or only when you have a bad reaction to something?
im terrified of needles :(
I couldn't imagine being one of those people who has to take injections really frequently (multiple times a month). Hate needles with a passionwhy are the legends on that control key so damn high

Nah, it is my first dose of Stelara. I will get a 2nd in 30 days, then one every 12 weeks pretty much forever. Needle was terrible, so big.

Tyrone reviewed my syringe of Stelara and said it has optimum girth. He lies :(

I'm Super-medication-Man. Able to inject small fortunes in a single dose!

OP, holy ****... 15k... To a 17 year old. That's like... A lot of ****ing money.
You have to take that thing daily? I always saw the commercial and thought it was a pill... You know, they should advise people when that commercial plays. "The needle is the size of king kongs dong, OP today"
Not to compare my problems with yours, but I also measure my medical expenses, and more frequently, vehicle repair expenses, by the opportunity cost in keyboards. I could have "completed" my collection with what I spent on medical treatment and car repairs in the last 4 months.

Sweet Jesus, that's expensive. I have some pretty severe psoriasis myself. Arms, legs, body, scalp... and recently spread to my face... ugh.
My condolences OP.
My medical bills this past year were more than the past 10 years of the rest of my family's costs combined. Thank god for really good insurance.

What gauge is the needle? Doesn't seem look that big to me but then again I give a bunch of injections a day. At least it is not everyday. ^-^
Yeah insulin needles are a relatively small gauge. Some of the meds I give are so thick I use an 18 gauge 1.5 inch needle. I'm just glad I'm not on the receiving end.

How big would an 18 gauge be? I don't know how large the needle was but there were several monsters when I was in the hospital.

don't you worry, the fear of needles quickly goes away, at least it did for me. I used to be scared of them, but 2 months of hospital with multi-syringes a day you don't even care anymore.
GL on the medication.
Two shots in the first 30 days.. then a shot every 12 weeks. Don't think there is an end date to treatment, auto-immune diseases ftw! At least this stuff is supposed to stop the psoriatic arthritis from doing further damage.
...
ps, you guys are freaking wimps. wait til you see the blood donation needles. :P

so you have to do this to yourself? or does a nurse help you out?
GL and I hope the medication works well!

EDIT:
thank god I was doing ****tons of accupuncture before to get over my fear of needles. :)
Were you the one who won the case labs Christmas contest? Love the color manShow Image(http://i.imgur.com/ZqdklDF.jpg?1)
It is a CM Storm Quickfire with MX Blues.. repainted a replacement top cover and threw on the RoW keycaps to match my pc case.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/DLDO9W1.jpg)

Not daily, for that shot ;) Its 1 dose followed by a second dose in 30 days, then 1 dose every 12 weeks.
But yeah, that **** is expensive.. worth more than my car
I can't stand needles or pills, I have a smaller than average throat, so pill swallowing is hard...
I have a funny story about needles though. In the army we have these morphine pens which look like this:Show Image(http://www.meridianmeds.com/sites/default/files/pen-text3.jpg)
You take it out of it's hermetically sealed bag, and this is what you are greeted with. The red end is removable. So, any normal person would think, remove the red cap, apply to skin, push purple end, give morphine. But no.
For some reason, the purple end is the needle-deploying end, and one guy in my unit needed to give morphine to a person who actually needed it. In the the heat of the moment, he forgot the saying "Purpley pointy dangerous end", and did as I stated above. No sooner had he done that, a 4cm needle appears through his thumb, giving his nail a nice coating of morphine.
Unfortunately this meant that he didn't get much of it, and it hurt a lot.
Moral of the story; pay attention to stupid sayings.
My friend also has fairly severe psoriasis
even with the canadian insurance he still spends a lot on it per year.
Sorry to hear about the conditions op =( The keyboard is looking really nice with the pc case!

Thanks! :) My plan for this year is to move from my painted CM Storm keyboard to a keyboard I build myself.. as long as I don't burn the house down learning to solder.
Oh wow! Just saw this thread! That's a lot of scary needles and super expensive costs. I measure cost on CC instead of keyboard. Does your hospital take CCurrency? Take care OP! Hope you are taking it positively!
