Title: Hello there.
Post by: RedRoboHood on Thu, 26 February 2015, 09:32:19
Hi, everyone! I sort of "discovered" mechanical keyboards a couple of weeks ago, and since then I've been frantically trying to figure out my "perfect" keyboard (yes, yes, I know). I've pretty much settled on the WASD V2 because I really like its simplicity and customizability, as well as the fact that you can buy it without keycaps. I figured I might as well join this forum because it seems like you guys are a pretty great community to be in. So, yeah.

(Also, if anyone knows how I can get my hands on one of these (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=50935.0) blank sets, that would be awesome.  :p Ciao!)

Welcome to GH!

To get your hands on one of those blank PBT sets from Ivan, you'd have to either post in the group buy thread asking if anyone would be willing to let you take over their order, or watch the classifieds subforum for a set to pop up for sale.

OK, thanks! I'll be sure to watch carefully, then.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Your perfect keyboard might turn out to be a small collection of keyboards with different switches and different keycaps :))

Haha, yeah, from what I've read, that's what's probably going to happen. :P Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to the forum!
Has anybody said that the perfect number of keyboards is N+1 being N the number of keyboards you currently have? hahaha :D

Thanks! I'd suppose all one would need to do, then, is prevent that function from being chronologically sampled multiple times! ;)

Or N + 2 ... I always seem to have 2 more on my wish list than I already have (although a year's search for one of those looks like it is finally at an end!).

I thought mx blues were perfect for me, then I bought a topre keyboard... and now i'm considering getting buckling springs.

Ah, but one can circumvent such crises by inventing arbitrary perfectionist restrictions for oneself: do blank black PBT keycap sets for Topre or buckling spring boards even exist? :p

I have all of the above.

Plus a few more :p

OK, so I managed to get one of those PBT sets from Ivan (waiting anxiously for them to arrive now :))). I was wondering what you guys think about WASD's V2 keyboard in general. It seems pretty great to me, and the fact that you can buy it without keycaps means that I can get a much better deal with it than with pretty much anything else, but is the V2 a good board?

Those are still in production?  Be prepared for a wait of a few weeks to a couple of months before you get them!

Oh, don't worry, I am. :) It's not going to be until late April or early May that the V2 comes back in stock anyway, so I'm not really in any hurry.
