So I was polishing a hard drive platter for use as a coaster just after having taken apart the sacrificed (dead) hard drive. My glass of Dr. Pepper was sitting on the desk to my right. I make the motion with my left arm to set the newly re-purposed coaster to its new place on my desk, and the motion of my arm doing so knocks the damned glass over, spilling it all over my desk, of course. It got to the bottom of my mouse, spilled over my desk onto the carpet, and a tiny bit of it (several drops) got onto my QFR. Should I take it apart and check if the PCB is in danger of being screwed, or am I fine? I mean, it IS a plate mounted keyboard, so...IDK - that's why I made this thread in the first place! :S

Anytime a spill happens, disassembly (not to the point of desoldering) and cleaning is suggested.

it wouldn't hurt to take the plate and pcb combo out of the case along with the caps. some liquid could have gotten into the switches and that would only get worse with time. i'd wash the plate as much as you can with some alcohol or distilled water and follow up with a can of air. obviously when introducing liquids to electronics you want to make sure everything has dried before putting it all back together.
PS, probably not that serious unless it poured in.

Thanks for the responses! I took it apart, and there was a tiny bit of soda on the plate, but nothing got to the PCB. Thanks again! :D
