Topre is hard to compare to MX.

From a tactility standpoint, 55g Topre feels more tactile to me. Weighting wise, 55g Topre feels slightly lighter than stock MX Clears.

There's lots of threads on this, but basically'

Topre = collapsing rubber dome.  Break point of resistance and it falls with no support

MX = plastic bump against metal contact leaf, pushed up by spring.

MX will have more support ramping as you press down due to how springs work, vs Topre just collapses.

People complain MX feels gritty (until broken in for over a year).  55g Topre is fatiguing over time as the bottom out can be harsh, even though it is slightly cushioned by the rubber dome.

Stronger fingers dislike the 55g Topre due to the collapse, but with a light touch it is quite enjoyable.

Topre is like rubbing the shoulder of a supermodel and cherry Mx is like rubbing the shoulders of your hot coworker.

Both get you sued for sexual harassment?

This is a clear and objective explanation.

Not if you paid the supermodel.

Neither if you married your co-worker. :))

Wasn't there a thread like this yesterday? Oh... that was about Matias Quiet. sorry.

I think that Topre, Matias Quiet Click and Ergo Clear are somewhat comparable in force-per-travel, where the tactile bumps are etc.. But they can't be compared in smoothness. Topre are smoother than any other stock switch, for sure.

I haven't tried 55g Topre, but I find MX Clear to be more tactile than 45g Topre. Stock MX Clear have stronger springs that cushion the strokes so that you won't have to bottom out as often - and that makes them feel less heavy for me  than 45g Topre that I always bottom out.

what if your coworker is a supermodel?
Then you would be a model too, and you wouldn't be here typing.

The coworker is more satisfying because you at least have a chance with her?
