Title: Milk + Coffee Maker
Post by: SpAmRaY on Tue, 03 March 2015, 10:05:57
What would happen if you ran milk through a coffee maker instead of water to make coffee?

You'd probably end up with a bunch of curdled milk inside the coffee machine and result in some really ass 'cappuccino'.

My mom had to throw ours out after I did that when I was like 6.  Might be able to clean it with some vinegar afterwards though.

I did this once too and trashed it.

You need a coffee maker with a milk receptacle (I have an Oster Prima Latte and can recommend it)

I think it's the same as this: http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Coffee-Espresso-Automatic-BVMC-ECMP1000/dp/B007K9OIMU/ (http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Coffee-Espresso-Automatic-BVMC-ECMP1000/dp/B007K9OIMU/)

I also ruined a couple of thermos by doing that. Milk would filter through the gasket. You should rinse it thoroughly with a chlorine dilution afterwards, but even then, rubber don't take well [rotten] milk.

In the meantime, heat the milk separately, then add it.
