For those of you who ship your keyboards out for people to try, Are you worried that the keyboard will be stolen or broken? Has it happened? I'm going to be purchasing a HHKB and am in the states. I see that people are doing and have done tours and am interested in maybe doing the same at some point. These questions/fears arose when thinking about it and figured I would get some input. Thanks!

I'm running a tour and yeah I am scared my HHKB might get broken or something but it hasn't and I do request government ID so I can find you and kill you if you hurt my HHKB :p
And I ran one a few months ago.

On a more serious note, what would you actually do if it was just stolen or broken? Your thread is actually what is making me consider it. I haven't tried topre yet but either way I know there are a lot of other people who also have not and would probably be interested. I may just end up purchasing one just to tour it.

Forgot to quote you in the post above this one.

Make sure that there are no car accidents and giant turkeys involved.

I modeled the tours I've run after AkimbO's tours. He set a higher post count and screened people. I generally try and admit everyone that meets the post requirements but some people have had some issues in past tours. So I either talk to them or see how they acted in previous tours to screen them. But you'll have to realize that even if everyone is perfect (and I've never had any issues with members on a tour :) ), the packages can still be lost. I had one tour disappear after USPS lost the package. But I've run two or three tours and it's fine.

Just get insurance for the item ;)

I tried cashing in the built in $50 insurance from USPS. They claimed that since it was delivered (albeit to the incorrect address), they did not have to give me the money.

On the plus side, maybe you got some random person into mechanical keyboards.

I've never had luck getting USPS to pay out.
What I had considered was asking people to pay a $20 fee on top of shipping to join a HHKB tour limit it to 10 people, put the money aside until the tour was over and either raffle off the board, the money among the participants or simply refund it.
