Very different. Topre are tactile where as Reds are not. Reds are linear with coiled spring so that the resistance increases gradually while Topre have resistance like a rubber dome that dips after the tactile bump. Topre 45g also feel heavier.
Both types do however  bottom out easily, and the bottom feels distinct. Topre bottoms out a bit softer.

Topre 30-35g are less tactile and lighter, and therefore more like Cherry MX reds in the force.
However, all variants of Topre are much smoother than unmodified Cherry MX switches. New Cherry switches can feel a bit gritty but feel better once they have been broken in.

Have you used a regular rubber dome keyboard? Topre switches are pretty comparable to that, just with dramatically better build quality and and overall more refined feel when you press the keys.

Topre's 45-gram switch feels much different to me than my MX Red keyboards. I sold my 45-gram Topre boards for 55-gram Topre keyboards (2x as of today). I've not felt a switch that has a comparable feel to either of Topre's key weights. However, not all of us have the same sense of feel for any one key switch. The only way for you to know is to try a particular keyboard/key-switch for yourself. If this means buying a particular keyboard and taking a slight financial hit by selling it, or modifying it if it isn't right for you, you'll have joined the ranks of Geekhack.

Topre and Cherry are two different worlds, they are very different and I can't draw many parallels.
I've found my FC660C to be less tactile, and a tad bit heavier than my Novatouch, even though they're both supposed to be 45g.

In comparison to reds, which were on my daily driver before going Topre, I'd say that they remind me of the Novatouch, and the FC660C remind me of blacks. Either way, no Cherry I've tried gets on the level of smoothness or sound level Topre has, so Topre isn't leaving my side ever, if I can help it. Sound to me is a big thing, so you should definitely look into Topres if you enjoy quietness.

If you're into smoothness and have a thing for quiet things, Topre is your guy. Again, it's hard to compare the two. I'd go on youtube and watch videos about keyboards with Topre switches, and read up on reviews on GH and DT. And if you're interested in getting one, you should, you won't regret it (but your wallet will).

Tactility will be different...Reds are linear, Topre have a bump.  Reds also have a low initial force requirement to start pressing them down so while you might see them both as "45g" they're really not the same.

If anything, Reds are probably more similar to Topre 30g....
