We are one of the last nations to implement it and of course it had to be done on a Monday morning. Never on a Friday afternoon shortening the workday. Plus it is vice versa when the time rolls back.
-
What you just did it this year?
It has to be done in the week-end not in week day.
-
It kinda sucks going to school when it's pitch black, but it is nice to have more daylight when I get home in the afternoon.
-
As some one who dont get to see the sun for like 3-4 months each year I get it, I want to be awake when the sun is up as much possible. I dont mind ****ing with my watch every 6 months, I would like to know the sun still exists even when its winter

Why can't we just move time 1/2 hour once making a compromise, and then leave it the **** alone forever?
-
Daylight Savings time is the worst. Both in Spring and Fall it is like some kind of torture if you have young kids. It takes days to convince them what time it is, and yes it really is bedtime. On the other hand, if they change it again like they did a few years ago that is months of work and planning to make sure every time sensitive system doesn't get completely blown up.
On the plus side, I do like that it is light out when I get out of work now.

So arbitrary, anyway. Why does every place need to be on some schedule of "daylight is between XX:XX am until YY:YY pm..."?? Can't we all just set our clocks to UTC and be done with these stupid time changes?

That sounds really interesting. Would be easier if everyone just had the same time.

But are you liberal enough to please all the minorities?

What is this AM/PM nonsense? Surely 24 hour clocks all around as well if we are throwing away the idea of timezones. Let's also make dates in the correct order DD/MM/YY while we are at it, and switch to the metric system. Then we will have fixed everything that is wrong about Americas systems of measures.

amen to that.
After that you'll only be Celcius and ISO layout away from your european roots.
-
**** ISO.
-
**** ISO.
you're in UK now you'll have to deal with ISO
-
Celsius is part of the metric system as far as I am concerned, so definitely. But ANSI forever. ISO is not good, if more keys are needed then JIS is far superior for not having a miniature left shift and a random punctuation key on the wrong side of the keyboard.

I've been saying this for years. My life is no different whether I wake up at 0600 or 0000 (same time in UTC). We already have to do mental math to "figure out what time it is" in other time zones so it wouldn't change that aspect.
And to Ivan's point, I'd much prefer a (YY)YY/MM/DD format. ;) that way I won't have to swap it around to keep files in alphabetical order by date. :thumb:

I'm all for this. Metric system for measurements, everyone on UTC, and YYYY/MM/DD date format.

The only thing I know about daylight savings is that its an option on my PS3, I turn it on or off depending if the time on my PS3 is out by an hour.
tbh in the last few years the hour changing hasn't effected me, my digital alarm clock thing automatically changes the time and so does my phone and PC...
I like the idea of everything being a uniform time, time zones are such a ****ing hassle to deal with and have to work out.. especially seeing as how America is so greedy and has two

Maybe I shouldn't tell you that we actually have 4? :))

i brought my own keyboard to the country. and macbook's keys are horrible regardless of what layout they make.

russia must be a monster then.

You forget about Hawaii and Alaska? Also, what about Guam, American Samoa, US Virgin Islands...?
-
I would love it if the US adopted the metric system, and got rid of DST. Metric just makes so much more sense when doing math.
-
****ing timezones... pretty much the only two I can cope with is GMT (the only REAL time) and CET...

Yes I did forget about those. :P
Okay, fine. CONUS has 4 time zones. :-*
