Seems pretty unlikely that they'd continue on without him, the best thing about that show is the dynamic between the hosts. Just take a look at the US or Australia Top Gear attempts, they were ****ing TERRIBLE.
-
Clarkson has never given any ****s, and they can't do the show without him.
On the other hand, all three of them are getting pretty long in the tooth so I expected Top Gear to have it's final run soon anyways.
-
Without Clarkson the show is dead, it looses its edge.
While I enjoy the show its not been the most amazing thing ever for a few years now so it wouldn't be too bad for it to be put out to pasture, but as a source of huge amounts of money for the BBC it would seem to cause an issue if it totally disappeared over night, which would have serious knock-on effects for all of its programs going forward.
-
so basically the question is should bbc deliver and satisfy their viewers or since james may and others are displeased with clarkson, keep him off for the sake of the people who work in the bbc
-
I predict he'll be back in all his opinionated glory by next week. He speaks his mind, that gets him in trouble with the politically correct BBC and he gets a slap on the wrist. It's part of how he operates as he gets older and I for one applaud him for it. Free speech and all that, he tends not to say stuff without reason, despite his reputation for being an oaf.

I've binged watched the 4 Seasons that are on Netflix over the past few days. Sad to see this has happened as soon as I got into the show :(
-
Bit unfair I think. Clarkson's job is to get sacked..

There are like 20 seasons, pretty sure you've still got some catching up to do lol
-
Yeah, they have only have 16-20 on Netflix though, Not sure where to watch the rest

James isn't displeased with Clarkson. The three of them regularly poke fun at each other on twitter and facebook. There's a short video interview with James where he doesn't seem to concerned.

Save Clarkson? Save empty cardboard boxes and off-cuts of string. They're far more useful.

this doesnt really feel like the time to be joking but what do i know
-
Nothing, apparently
-
Yeah, it's about on par with the three of them. They joke about everything on twitter.
"May and Hammond joked about the situation on Twitter last night. May said: “No Top Gear this weekend, apparently. How about 633 Squadron instead?”
Hammond responded: “No, surely, Last of the Summer Wine – no one will notice the difference. Job done.”
Clarkson then joined in, tweeting: “No no no. Where Eagles Dare. Much better.”"

nah its pretty good

I like Clarkson. But he's an idiot. And people who want him reinstated, are pretty much as stupid as he is.
Think of it this way. Your aim is to insult people, but that's part of your charm. You overstep the line, and you have been given your final warning by the company that employs you.
Then you go and punch your boss.
I would EXPECT to be sacked. You CAN'T do that, no matter how big a star you are. Just look at that news anchor from the USA. Suspended for lying on TV. Jonathan Ross. Essentially forced out of the BBC for leaving a voicemail message.
-
Clarkson is a fantastic host, but he's also a massive douche. I would hate to see the show end, but, at the same time, do think that Clarkson needs to be severely reprimanded, even if it does mean the end of the show.

Rumors were already going around that this was the last season, so I'm guessing this is the last nail in the coffin.

It's the best possible way it could go out

James does have a way with words.
