Title: What weight (in grams) are stock cherry mx clear springs?
Post by: Willyc277 on Wed, 11 March 2015, 15:12:19
Recently bought a 60% plate, pcb, and some cherry mx  clears from a member here so I can start my first custom build. I'm waiting for it all to come in and was wondering about build possibilities. I've got just over 100 gold 62g springs laying around and would like to know if it would be worth my time to swap them with the stock clear springs! What weight are the stock clear springs? I've read that the actuation force is at 55cN, but how does that convert/compare to grams? I plan on tearing down all the switches to do a lube and sticker job.

Thanks!

62g is the perfect spring for Clears, IMHO (lighter than stock Clear springs, but stronger than Brown / Red / Blue ones).

Though I do like the Clear spring force profile (the way it increases more after actuation) and stock Clears are quite nice.
