Title: Mixing and Matching Keys and Colours
Post by: sirisaac1982 on Wed, 11 March 2015, 18:14:34
I got in another set I ordered. The Rosewill Double shot ABS
Been playing around with different combinations. I have a few other sets that should be in anytime now, I'll post more pics when they arrive. Originally I started with just changing the modifiers and it spread from there. I also tried to keep it somewhat colour symmetrical. Let me what you think.

If you check out the nomination thread for February's Keyboard of the Month, you will see VesperSAINT's Realforce where he has green and red modifiers on either side. It's really awesome.

Red and black is a really good combination, and the Linux keys are getting more popular recently. I like it :)

First thought: I've never understood the idea behind F5-F8 being a different colour.

Second thought: if the middle of the nav cluster and scroll lock are black why are the up/down arrows not?

Third though: num lock / and * are red but the number/symbol row isn't, and the dancing spaceman(?) (top right key) is the only black in the column.  It's common, but again I don't understand why as it looks strange to me.

Overall though I really like the red and black combo, and it's hard to criticise a board with penguin keys :)

Red and black go well together, and white is a good highlight to that!

You will find that this can become very addictive ;)

Addictive is right LOL. Lately its been a nightly ritual to check the forums and sites for keycap sales. I'm becoming an addict.  New thread Title: KA Meetings (Keycaps Anonymous) Help for keycap addicts. LOL  :thumb:

It would be cool to goto something like that. Maybe in the future. I live about 2 hours northeast of Toronto Ontario Canada. Something like that would have to be a mini vacation.  ;)

There are enough Canadians here - maybe some would be interested in a Canadian meetup?
