As far as less legal ways, you could look into Newsgroups as well. They aren't free, but are much safer than torrents.

Edit: just noticed your location, a VPN would be required.

I don't understand..

Do you think HBO is gonna forward a request to the ISP in YOUR country, THEN your ISP is going to Give-a-H00t, and purposefully lose a customer to a complaint with no potential legal enforcement in that country?

When I was in China I used StrongVPN and it was quite nice. I could connect manually when out and about but also had an extra router I set up as an endpoint at home so my wife and I could Facebook, Netflix, etc on our devices without having to connect the Vpn each time.

They had great service and a ton of servers to choose from.
