Just got two M2s off the recycling plant and opened one up (quite a chore in itself btw) and it's full of black plastic hammers that resemble the ones on the Model M. I was wondering if they're the same and whether they're compatible or not. Anyone know whether they are or not?

Eyeballing it, the hammers look the same, but the springs from an M2 are, surprisingly, slightly longer.
By the way, the flippers out of my disassembled M2 are clear like an M's, not black.

The ones on my M2 are black. It is from 1990. Strange the springs are slightly longer. It would be interesting to feel how m2 springs feel in m keyboards and vice versa. At any rate they should be fully compatible.
I should note that I haven't personally tested it but never saw anything to the contrary.
