THIS IS NOT AN AUCTIONlike the idea, but I think it would be better to make some sort of a raffle instead, since I don't think anyone would want to "purchase" an f2 for 300$
I wanted to do this last year but things came up and then we could no longer auction things off so it was set aside. I came across it again while trying to locate my arduino and thought it was about time to get this going again.
This was my first and only purchase of an artisan keycap so I really wanted to keep it. Then came the tragic news about Smallfry's passing and I wanted to help in any way possible.
I haven't met Smallfry in person but from talking to him on IRC and the forum you could tell he was a very ambitious person and just like me he had a million ideas going through his head that he wanted to share with you. He was never afraid to ask questions or give a helping hand, I guess I saw a little of myself in him.
I hope whoever buys this keycap will know how much this keycap means to me.
I would like to get $300 for the keycap but If you want donate more on top of that please contact Mkawa. If the person who buys the keycap donates more money I will offer FREE soldering / assembly good for one keyboard ( check out my soldering services thread in my sig to see what I can do ).
I will cover shipping anywhere in the world and 100% of the proceeds will go to Smallfry's Foundation.

Do you know if the Foundation been established yet? AFAIK, it hasn't been setup by Smallfry's family yet and mkawa was holding on to the money until it was setup.
I think a raffle is better for raising more cash and getting more group participation. If it's just three bucks for a good cause I'll support, even though I normally don't like clacks at all. Whereas even if it is being offered for only $30, I'll never buy it.
I think $2-3 is a good entry point for a raffle, with max of 200 tickets sold. If you don't manage to sell all your tickets I'll buy one.

I am still not sure if a raffle is against TOS but that sounds like a good idea. If I did a raffle it would most likely be $5 a ticket with a cap of 100 tickets so that I am sure we can get all the tickets sold, how do you think that sounds?
I'm in for a couple tickets if its for a good cause.
hey folks, thechemist asked me about this yesterday (today? oh dear..) but i'm afraid i haven't chimed in until now. i fully support this in whatever form the mods would prefer. this is on their radar, and they will chime in once they've decided how they'd like this to go. thanks everyone!!
If it was me I would get all the details worked out before I started up the thread.Where is the money going exactly?
Have you contacted the foundation?
