Title: lightsaver?

Anyone know if there is any place you can readily buy a lightsaver or an equivalent  board?

( soldering componets is fine, even okay with a teensey powered unit )

yep.
You should find all infos about the item in the thread I linked you,
I can advise you TaobaoFocus, they were great for my RS96.

LSv2 has yet another GB in the works. I recommend holding out for that!
